Chapter 2 -One Step Further-

Phee actually laughs—a short, strangled, almost desperate sound. He looks to Leohorn and offers a small smile through his tears. “Thank you,” he says, sincere this time. He does not, however, pick up Az-eal’s offered cloth. Instead he regards the god with something akin to distrust. Tears still run down his face, but he has regained control of his voice. “The last time I was of use to someone I unleashed a dragon with an army of the dead upon the world,” he replies, almost hissing.

*glaring at the new teifling*
Sho *whispering* how do you know this *looking Az-eal up and down* fella? *staring intently at Sholin*

*Az-eal, turns his attention fully on Phee and allows his pent up agression radiate it of him. His power fills the room and his voice is low and has a terrible warning.*
I was not speaking of you, child. I have no use of weak ass pretty boys who spend more time crying than they do working to fix the issues they've helped fuck up.
*Grabs his cloak and turns to leave*
Because of you all, not only has a force been reawoken that almost destroyed the gods, but now Murmur is once again in a body. While you all lick your wounds, I'll be outside- figuring out how to fix this shit.
*Before he leaves he glares at Sholin*
I am disappointed in you. To think you slept with a weakling such as him.
*Slams the door behind him.*

What!?! No! Sho! What!?!

*laying back down arm laying across my forehead, exsasted*
Phee? *in a quite voice* there is a time for mourning, this is not it, this is a time to plan.

*Despite herself, Sholin jumps at the slam of the door. Anger and frustration swirl inside her mixed with embarrassment and regret. She leans her forhead against her hand and mutters*
That's him, Pearl. That's the God.

"Oh Az-eal... you'll have to forgive him, he has a bit of a temper." *signing and shaking his head, then turns to head towards Phee handing him a small cloth torn from the sheets. "These tears are to useful to simply shed on the ground" *Holding the cloth for Phee to wipe them up* "Now, tell me about your foot little Siren"

Wow. I.... ummm...... well.... * waiting for Sholin to rise her gaze* is he always this fired up? * a smirk escaped across my lips*

Phee glances at Pearl and offers her a nod as if to say he understands, but he is still clearly shaken. He smiles, but it is half hearted.

Taking the offered cloth from Leohorn, he wipes his face as instructed, holding the cloth in place as his tears continue to fall.

“It was the Lord of Plagues,” he tells the half-elf. “He...gods, I can hardly remember. He...got...me. I went...somewhere else, and when I returned I had this...curse from where he touched me. Regith—Ildreth healed me. I know not by what magic.”

In one fell swoop his smile drops his eye go into an almost dark haze. Leohorn is extremely serious and lost his approachable demeanior. "Did you say the Lord of Plagues?" "How long has it been since you received the wound" "Let me see your eyes" *Intently staring into them; then grabbing Phee's wrist and checking for his pulse* "Consider yourself extremely lucky you're a siren boy. Those tears are preventing you from decaying."

*Shakes her head and lets out a heavy sigh.*
He gets angry but I've never seen him like this. Also *glances toward Phee* it doesn't help that he was just disrespected by the first dude I screwed since him.
*To Phee*
I would apologize for him but...that's pointless. You should probably know...that's no ordinary tiefling. He's a god. And I assume he is a major reason we are still alive.
*Slowly gets up and stumbles to her clothes*
I need to talk to him.

No you need to rest. *concentrating, one gooseberry appears in my hand, I hold it out to Sho as an offering*

Phee’s heart skips a beat at this news from Leohorn, and he opens his mouth, but pauses. Is he lucky? Or is he tremendously unlucky?

“It was several days ago,” he answers eventually, empty.

*Throwing on her cloak she turns to Pearl and smiles*
Thank you, my sweet. Use that for yourself and no more until you are well. I'll be ok.
*Walks to the door and pauses*
I am glad you survived, Phee.

*Noticing the rock by me, looking to leohorn* cans I touch it? Why doesn’t Sho have one? Phee weres your rock?
We barely made it out alive with that plague guy, scary shit in those halls.

Phee blinks at Sholin, caught off-guard by her sentiment. Even if he is not glad he survived, someone is, and maybe that will have to be enough. He nods at her, fresh tears rising in his eyes. “And I you,” he says, then looks to Pearl. “Both of you.”

Phee sucks those bad boys back in *finger pointed at him*

He laughs grimly at Pearl’s comment. “That I do.” His smile fades further still, thinking of Regith. “And they draw me in, too.”

Save your tears for something better k? Like getting wasted and laughing to hard. You’ll make your face puffy.

He smiles at her, and it is genuine this time. “Can’t have that,” he says, a joke, but with little of his usual mirth. He does draw in a deep breath, however, as his tears begin to slow. “To tell you the truth, Pearl, I cry so little I think I have to cry for everything all at once.”

At least bottle that shit to help your self out in the future when you cant cry

Do you feel like death? Or is it just me? Why is Sho taking so long? *looking to the door then back to Phee*
Leohorn how long have you known THE god?

*Leohorn looks intensely at Phee* "There may be time yet to save your soul." *In one swipe of his hand over Phee's ankle a large blast of holy energy smashing into the thread sewn in Phee skin and the threats grow tighter applying more pressure to the ankle. *Turning around and preparing his thoughts* "I shall be back, I need to do some research" *before exiting the room he turns to Pearl* "That little Fey is a Fey Soul Stone, harvested from the great tree of life, only those of the Fey wilds will feel their healing effects" *exiting the room.

Grimacing, Phee tenses at the sudden increase of pressure. Between Leohorn’s words and Pearl’s, the thought of the fact that he himself is uncertain if he’s glad he survived again flickers across Phee’s mind, but he says nothing, not about that. “Thank you, Pearl,” he replies, sincere. He would say the same to Leohorn, but the half-elf is already gone.
